Who should approve integration changes during a project handoff?

The person editing an app need not be its integration approver. Define the proposed change, affected dependency and verified executor before signoff.

Integration changes should be approved by the person your team explicitly authorises for the affected dependency, with app-level accountability recorded separately. Do not treat editing access as automatic authority to change integrations.

Distinguish work from control

Lovable documents role-based sharing with roles including Admin, Editor and Viewer. Role availability and external-collaborator controls vary by workspace settings and plan. The supplied evidence does not assign detailed integration powers to those roles.

Accordingly, distinguish three needs: reviewing a proposed change, editing relevant app material and controlling the affected integration. Verify actual permissions before assigning execution. An organisational signoff cannot create a missing platform permission, and a platform permission does not establish organisational approval.

Prepare an integration signoff sheet

Use one sheet for each proposed change, with these editorial fields:

  • Dependency name and business purpose, without credentials.
  • Current arrangement and proposed difference.
  • Reason the change belongs in this handoff.
  • Affected app behaviour and expected interruption, if any.
  • App-accountable person and dependency approver.
  • Executor and evidence of the required access.
  • Verification exercise using synthetic inputs.
  • Response plan if the verification fails.
  • Approval date, execution window in IST and unresolved questions.

Ask what information could leave the app and who has reviewed that flow. Also ask whether the team has permission to use the relevant material. These are privacy and rights review questions, not legal advice or assurances.

Hypothetical endpoint change

Imagine a Mumbai team handing over a fictional workshop app. It proposes changing the destination used for a synthetic registration notification. This is a hypothetical integration arrangement, not a claim about a documented Lovable connector.

The test input is a fabricated session identifier, a test name and a non-customer contact placeholder. The expected result is one authorised test notification at the intended destination, with no duplicate action.

Evaluate the signoff before evaluating the result. If no dependency approver is named, the change is not ready. If approval exists but the executor's permissions remain unknown, verify access rather than guessing from an Editor or Admin label.

Keep unresolved changes outside acceptance

Stop integration changes when the destination, approver or failure response is unclear. Continue the handoff only with that item explicitly excluded or assigned a later controlled review. Never put secrets in the signoff sheet.

If supporting tools are being sourced, check the AI tools catalog for access format and saved terms before buying. Marketplace account, code or token offers are not proof of official subscription equivalence or integration authority.

Sources and scope

The signoff sheet and notification example are editorial guidance, not claims about connectors or role-specific integration powers.
