Set an end date for external collaboration on a Lovable project

Give external collaboration a review deadline, not an assumed automatic expiry. Verify available controls and record whether access ends or is renewed.

Set an agreed end date for external collaboration and schedule a manual access review before that date. Do not assume Lovable automatically expires access: that capability is not established by the supplied evidence.

Verify the collaboration arrangement first

Lovable documents access for workspace members and external collaborators using roles including Admin, Editor and Viewer. Role availability and external-collaborator controls vary with the plan and workspace settings.

Before work begins, verify which arrangement is available in the actual workspace. Record the intended work, approved role, internal sponsor and review deadline. Avoid interpreting a role name as a complete statement of permissions.

For Indian teams working across time zones, write the deadline with a date, time and IST designation. “Friday evening” leaves unnecessary room for disagreement.

Build a manual expiry calendar

The following schedule is editorial advice, not a product automation:

  • At approval: record the collaborator, work purpose, sponsor and intended end date.
  • Seven days before: ask whether remaining work justifies continued access.
  • Two days before: obtain a written end-or-renew decision and identify the authorised executor.
  • On the deadline: carry out the approved access decision using verified controls.
  • Next working day: record evidence that the resulting access state matches the decision.

If the engagement lasts fewer than seven days, compress the reminders rather than skipping the decision. A calendar entry is only a prompt; it is not evidence that access has changed.

Hypothetical ten-day engagement

Suppose a Hyderabad studio invites an external reviewer for ten days to inspect a fictional training app containing synthetic examples. The agreed end is 18:00 IST on day ten. On day eight, two review comments remain unresolved.

The sponsor must choose between ending access as planned and approving a specific extension. “Keep it open just in case” fails the review because it supplies neither a bounded purpose nor a new deadline.

Evaluate completion through three records: the sponsor's decision, the authorised executor's confirmation and a verified statement of the resulting access state. Do not collect passwords or private account screenshots as proof.

Handle missed deadlines explicitly

If the deadline passes without verification, mark access status as unresolved and escalate to the sponsor. Stop sending new project material until the access question is settled. Ask what information the collaborator still needs and whether continued access is justified; these are review questions, not legal conclusions.

When considering replacement tooling, check the AI tools catalog for access format and saved terms before buying. Marketplace account, code or token offers are not proof of official subscription equivalence or suitable collaborator controls.
