Investigate unexpected Lovable credit use with a time-bounded activity diary, not a prompt-count accusation. Lovable documents a shared balance for building/chatting, hosting and backend activity, and deployed-app AI. A change in that balance may require evidence from several activity categories before you can explain it.
State the anomaly without naming a cause
Write the expected observation, the actual observation and the interval. For example, “the balance moved more than our internal planning allowance during Tuesday’s review window” is more defensible than “the last prompt consumed everything.”
Keep the expectation’s basis visible. Was it supported by earlier observations, or was it merely a guess? An inaccurate forecast and unexplained activity are different investigation problems.
For a distributed Indian team, record a consistent time zone, such as IST, so colleagues do not accidentally compare different windows.
Maintain an evidence-first diary
Create entries with these fields:
- Observation time and evidence reference.
- Available balance reading, if legitimately accessible.
- Building or chatting activity during the interval.
- Hosted app and backend activity known to the team.
- Deployed-app AI changes or demonstrations.
- Other relevant funding events, if evidenced.
- Hypothesis, clearly labelled as unconfirmed.
- Missing evidence and person responsible for obtaining it.
Avoid customer content, private conversations and secrets. Where a record contains sensitive information, use a minimal summary and an approved restricted reference rather than copying the material into the diary.
The diary is an editorial investigation tool, not a claim that Lovable provides each field as a report.
Examine a hypothetical overlapping timeline
Suppose a team notes 700 units at 10:00 and 580 at 14:00. It records a building session at 10:30, a hosted demonstration at noon and an app-AI change at 13:00.
These hypothetical inputs establish a 120-unit net movement and three overlapping activities. They do not establish which activity caused what share. Even the net movement should not automatically be labelled gross consumption if other balance events remain unresolved.
Evaluate candidate explanations by asking what evidence would distinguish them. A future approved observation window with fewer simultaneous changes may improve clarity, but do not disrupt a live app merely to produce a cleaner experiment. No hands-on result is claimed here.
Stop blame when attribution is unsupported
If the diary cannot distinguish explanations, stop assigning exact costs or responsibility. Next, gather a narrower, non-sensitive evidence package and seek clarification through an appropriate support route.
Do not buy replacement access as a substitute for diagnosis. If evaluating offers later, check the AI tools catalog for access format and save terms before buying. Marketplace account, code or token offers are not proof of official subscription equivalence.
