Specify currency, dates, and timezone rules as testable requirements before generating the interface. For Indian readers, a rupee symbol or familiar-looking date is not enough: the underlying amount and intended calendar day must remain unambiguous.
Define meaning before presentation
As editorial advice, separate stored values from displayed labels. State the currency, amount precision, rounding rule, accepted date input, and timezone used for deadlines. Do not let a decorative formatting choice silently change calculation or scheduling behaviour.
Lovable documents projects containing chat, preview, code, version history, and settings. That provides project context for recording and reviewing requirements; it does not establish automatic Indian locale correctness. Every example below is a requirement to verify, not a claimed platform default.
Build a locale acceptance sheet
Use one entry per boundary:
- Currency identity: input amount 123456.5 in INR; proposed display ₹1,23,456.50.
- Zero value: input 0 in INR; proposed display ₹0.00, without implying a missing value.
- Missing value: absent amount; proposed display “Amount unavailable,” not zero.
- Date ambiguity: input text 03/04/2026; require clarification or a documented input convention rather than silent guessing.
- Readable output: a date intended as 3 April 2026 should display “3 Apr 2026” under this proposed convention.
- Time boundary: a deadline must carry an explicitly chosen timezone and a rule for the exact cutoff instant.
Add actual result, pass/fail, and a reviewer for each entry. Choose different conventions if your users need them, but keep the contract consistent across screens and exports under review.
Hypothetical midnight registration case
Imagine a Chennai workshop closes registration at 00:00 Asia/Kolkata on 1 November 2026. The proposed rule is that submissions strictly before the cutoff are eligible; submissions at or after it are not.
Prepare three synthetic timestamps: one second before, exactly at, and one second after the cutoff. Expected results are eligible, closed, and closed. Evaluate the displayed deadline alongside the decision so a correct calculation does not hide behind misleading wording.
Separately test an amount requiring rounding, such as ₹199.995. Ask the owner to choose the required rounding method before setting an expected display. Do not derive invoicing or tax rules from this interface exercise.
Stop when conventions conflict
Pause generation if the form, confirmation, and exported record imply different dates or amounts. Next, agree one acceptance sheet and rerun its cases after the implementation changes.
If further build access is needed, check the coding catalog for access format and saved terms before buying. Marketplace account/code/token offers are not proof of official subscription equivalence.
Sources and scope
Source material checked 29 October 2026; features/policies may change. Lovable project overview establishes project contents and ownership, not locale capabilities. The acceptance sheet and deadline scenario are hypothetical editorial specifications, not verified defaults.
