Keep an evidence ledger for changing AI plan entitlements

Record what a dated source actually establishes, not what a plan name suggests. Keep official documentation and seller promises in separate evidence lanes.

Keep a dated evidence ledger that separates verified AI offering information from assumptions and seller promises. Claude’s pricing page presents consumer plans and API access as distinct offerings, but the supplied evidence does not establish particular prices or detailed inclusions. Your ledger should preserve that boundary.

Record claims individually, not by reputation

A remembered plan description is not a durable specification. Instead of writing “everything included,” create a separate entry for each entitlement your work depends on. Give each entry a source, date and verification status.

Useful statuses are “established by supplied evidence,” “requires current verification,” and “seller statement only.” These are editorial labels. They prevent an attractive product name from silently becoming an operational assumption.

For Indian buyers, record quoted currency and any internal INR budget separately when those details are available. Do not fill missing prices with remembered figures.

Build a two-lane evidence ledger

The provider-documentation lane should contain:

  • Exact offering name under review.
  • Narrow claim being evaluated.
  • Source URL and date checked.
  • Supporting wording or a bounded summary.
  • What the source does not establish.
  • Owner and next review trigger.

The marketplace lane should contain the seller’s exact promise, saved offer terms, access format and unresolved questions. Do not move a seller promise into the provider lane merely because it mentions the same brand.

Review triggers can include a planned renewal, a changed requirement or a revised offer. They are your internal controls, not provider notification guarantees.

Try a hypothetical entitlement review

Imagine a Kochi research team evaluating an unnamed consumer offering for a six-week project. Its requirements are a particular access format, a defined usage allowance and permission for its intended workflow.

Using only the supplied evidence, the ledger can establish that Claude presents distinct offerings. It cannot mark those three requirements as satisfied. Each remains “requires current verification” until appropriate evidence is obtained.

Evaluate the ledger by asking whether a colleague can distinguish the documented fact from the team’s wish list. A useful result may be three unresolved entries rather than a premature purchase approval. No detailed Pro-versus-API feature comparison is necessary.

Stop when a critical entitlement is assumed

Do not commit a dependent workflow while a must-have requirement remains unverified. The next step is a targeted evidence request, not a broader claim about the product.

If examining offers in the AI tools catalog, check access format and save terms before buying. Marketplace account, code or token offers are not proof of official subscription equivalence. Keep those offer records in the marketplace lane.

Sources and scope

Source material checked 29 October 2026; features/policies may change. Claude pricing establishes distinct consumer and API offerings within the supplied evidence, not current prices or detailed inclusions. The ledger, status labels and review exercise are editorial advice.
